hi friends.
i'm nelleke, a singer, songwriter, and producer hailing from a small town in the east of the netherlands. i've always had a deep fascination for folk music, drawing inspiration from legendary artists like joni mitchell, sting, bonnie raitt, and later on, bon iver, jeff buckley and damien rice. their unique sounds lit a fire inside me, urging me to start writing my own material from a young age.

my journey into producership began during a transformative residency at the banff centre for arts and creativity in canada back in early 2020. it was there, amidst breathtaking landscapes and boundless creativity, that i made the bold decision to carve my own path as a singer-songwriter. that decision was a game-changer.

fast forward a bit, and i had the incredible opportunity to be featured exclusively on the tv show we want more on sbs6, the dutch national television. it was a thrilling experience that opened doors for me, and soon after, i found myself accepted into berklee college of music. at berklee, i delved deep into my artistry, working tirelessly on my debut ep titled bird /on concrete, which was released in september 2023.

these past months, i've had the privilege of releasing collaborations with fellow artists. last january , a cover of joni mitchell's the dawntreader came out — an electro folk collab with canadian producer alex iso. i also collaborated on a remix of my original song send the rain and co-wrote inside my mind, both made by swiss techno producer soma soul. in the meantime, i signed with publishing company black stellar music, and started writing for labels like armada and multinotes as a topliner and vocal producer.

currently, i’m based in rotterdam while spending time in both london and the usa. i’ve wrapped up a new project called unholy sigh, my sophomore ep, created in collaboration with two american producers. sound-wise, it lives somewhere between alternative folk, indie rock, and melancholic pop — with plenty of room for emotional depth, existential spirals, and a full band. it’s set to release in fully in may 2026, but the first three singles are already out! my music resides at the intersection of alternative pop and indie-folk, always seeking to uncover the in-between worlds of sound. i think it's so important to create intimacy and make space for softness within my work. as i continue on this musical journey, i’ve been fortunate to share my songs on stages across europe and the usa — and i can’t wait to keep going.
